Meet Andrea from Sheboygan Wisconsin. A stay at home mother and housewife, this woman has more determination than most. She was at a point in her life while at her heaviest weight, and as she states, "something clicked". A decision was made to get on the right track, lose weight, and eat healthy. Bad carbs were what was holding her back from being her best. As a result she cut out white rice, pasta, bread and potatoes from her diet, and got on track with a workout plan to get to her goal weight. Now let me tell you, my first thought was "Are you nuts?! How can you not eat potatoes and pasta!?" That may not work for everyone, and sure as heck not for me(I love eating potatoes!), but it worked for her and her attitude paid off. She had the determination to get to her goal, and that meant eating in new ways. |
Each and every person is different when it comes to dieting. One person may need less fat in their diet, while the other needs less sugar. Andrea found that in order for her to reach her goal, a low carb and high protein diet was necessary. How did she stay on track? Her Fitness Pal and 5K Runmeter apps were two things that helped her get to her goal. The Fitness Pal App tracks your food and calorie intake, as well as exercises. Its free, on almost any device, and lets you scan the bar codes of what you're eating for easy information access. Tracking your calories is one of the best way to realize what you're eating, and how much you're eating, a key in healthy eating and weight loss. Andrea's Advice:"Stick to it!! It takes 12 weeks for your body to process the change and actually start seeing tremendous results! Sweating is the best thing you can do during your workouts!! Even the basic core strengthening is a very important step!! Your mind is your worst enemy! Don't give in to quitting! If you have a bad day take it with pride and don't quit!! There's always tomorrow to make new changes!!" | Challenges: We all run into difficulties when dieting, or working out. Andrea states that getting her oldest daughter and husband to eat the same diet as her was and still is a struggle, but that didn't stop her from reaching her goal. She didn't let making separate meals bring her down, and so far she has lost 60 pounds and 30 inches on her journey to a healthier lifestyle! Kudos to you girl! Keep it up! |
Andrea's Favorite Recipie
Andrea came up with this combo on her own. Loving Salmon and Quinoa and adding in Brown Rice, Turmeric and Onion was the perfect combination. Coconut Oil is used as the sauce. You can make as much or as little as you would like! "Saute the onion in coconut oil, then add the turmeric." "Cool on medium high for a minute and then add the shredded salmon, cooked quinoa and brown rice." |
